John Carpenter, 74, of Weston passed away Monday, February 3, 2020.
John was born on June 5, 1945 in Bowling Green, Ohio to the late Charles and Gennell (Tyrrell) Carpenter. He married Darlene Eschedor on July 24, 1970 in the Grace Lutheran Church, Weston and she survives in Weston. Also surviving is son Chad Carpenter, siblings: Carol (Richard) Klotz, Gary (Diane) Carpenter, Sharon Walker, Roger Carpenter and LuAnn (Jim) DeMond; brother in laws Tom Newby and Ron Hoyt. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Lois Hoyt and Melva Newby and a brother in law Bob Walker.
John was a 1963 graduate of Eastwood High School and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He worked at BGSU in the Maintenance Department. John was a member of the Abiding Word Lutheran Church where he was a past Chairman and Trustee. In 1994, John was award Weston Chamber Commerce Person of the Year. John’s true passion was farming, he also enjoyed camping and watching RFD TV and having coffee with his friends every morning.
Visitation for John will be on Friday, February 7, 2020 from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 PM in the HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME, 20375 E. Taylor St., Weston, Ohio 43569. John’s funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 10:30 AM in the Abiding Word Lutheran Church, 17202 N. Mercer St., Bowling Green. Interment with Military honors will follow in the Weston Cemetery.
