Bowling Green City Schools’ teachers got a special “thank you” this week, when signs recognizing their work during COVID-19 were placed in about 230 yards.
The BG Kiwanis Club and BG Rotary Club combined their efforts – with support from the Copy Shop – to place yard signs in all of the BG City Schools’ teachers’ yards thanking them for their efforts over this past year.
“This year our teachers faced a global pandemic, community politics, and a whole host of other behind the scenes struggles to keep students on track in all learning modes,” said Joe Edens, a Bowling Green Kiwanis Club member who coordinated the effort. “They met the moment not for themselves, but for others and that deserves our community’s gratitude.”
This effort happened at the start of teacher appreciation week.
“We just want teachers to know we have their back and value their commitment, care, and professionalism, especially in a year when we needed it most,” Edens said.
