Elizabeth Joy Purpura Steen, 32, of Findlay, Ohio entered eternity September 19, 2021. Liz was born on July 19, 1989 to Frank and Lora (Seedorf) Purpura in Elmhurst, Illinois. She married her one true love, Andrew Steen, on May 26, 2018 and he survives.
Liz was a 2008 graduate of Bryan High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education from Bowling Green State University in 2018. She was currently teaching at Kenton Elementary School and formerly taught at the Maritime Academy in Toledo and Miracles Child Care in Bryan.
Liz’s smile lit up the room and her laughter was contagious. It was no mistake that her middle name was Joy. Her exuberance bubbled over in everything she did. Liz’s love for her husband, Andrew, was obvious to everyone who met them. Liz shared an exceptional bond with her brother, Nick. She found great joy in uniting people through games at every get-together. Liz loved to swim. If there was water nearby, she was in it. Her passion was working with children and encouraging others to release their creativity. Liz’s artistic ability was a gift to so many. In fact, Liz and Andrew gifted each of their wedding guests with an original painting. Glitter was her favorite accessory.
Liz is survived by her parents Frank and Lora Purpura; husband: Andrew Steen; brother, Nicholas Purpura; grandmother, Loretta (Witte) Seedorf; her beloved in-laws, Jerry and Tina Steen; and four-legged companion Gimli. She was preceded in death by her brother Zachary Purpura, and grandparents Edwin Seedorf, Frank Purpura Sr., and Janet (Kramer) Purpura. She will be deeply missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
