Wood County has reported 388 new COVID cases, one more death and 20 more hospitalizations since Monday, according to today’s report from the Wood County Health Department.
That brings the total for the county to 20,006 cases, 280 deaths, and 893 hospitalizations from COVID.
Wood County is seeing an average of 97 new COVID cases each day, and is now at 364 COVID cases per 100,000 residents, keeping the county in the high transmission range.
During the last two weeks, the 851 new COVID cases in the county broken down into ZIP Code areas show that all areas of the county are affected. The highest number of cases in the last two weeks were reported in Perrysburg, 262; Bowling Green, 200; Walbridge, 39; Rossford, 39; Northwood, 38; North Baltimore, 36; Weston, 35; Millbury, 24; Pemberville, 18; BGSU, 17; Luckey, 16; Bradner, 14; Wayne, 14; Fostoria, 12; Rudolph, 12; West Millgrove, 12; Portage, 12; Bloomdale, 11.
Several schools in the county have reported recent cases of COVID. The report issued Dec. 2 gave an update of cases, including:
- BG Christian Academy, no new cases.
- BG City Schools, 22 students, 5 staff.
- Eastwood, 15 students, 3 staff.
- Lake, 5 students, 3 staff.
- Montessori, 1 student, 0 staff.
- Northwood, 2 students, 0 staff.
- Otsego, 9 students, 0 staff.
- Perrysburg, 27 students, 3 staff.
- Penta, 12 students, 0 staff.
- Rossford, 13 students, 2 staff.
- St. Aloysius Preschool, 1 student, 0 staff.
As of this week, the following long-term care facilities in Wood County reported new COVID cases:

- Brookdale, Bowling Green, 1 resident, 2 staff.
- Otterbein Perrysburg, 0 residents, 1 staff.
