Chef to discuss the joys of eating vegetables

Award-winning cookbook author Cara Mangini will speak on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 2 p.m. in the Wood County District Public Library Atrium. Author of “The Vegetable Butcher: How to Select, Prep, Slice, Dice, and Masterfully Cook Vegetables from Artichokes to Zucchini,” Mangini will discuss her work as a chef, creator and author.

Mangini is a James Beard Award finalist, chef, creator and author of The Vegetable Butcher and her much-anticipated second cookbook, “The Vegetable Eater: The New Playbook for Vegetarian Cooking.”

She draws from decades of spotlighting vegetables in her cooking, writing, professional kitchen and her home. Bringing together this passion and experience in her newest book, she presents approachable, crave-worthy recipes that make it second nature for home cooks to create vibrant, flavorful,

vegetable-based meals.
