La Conexion is inviting the community to attend a celebration of Latinx heritage with Hispanic culture, music and food on Saturday, Oct. 19.
The annual event will be held from 6 p.m. to midnight, in the Junior Fair Building at the Wood County Fairgrounds, 13800 W. Poe Road, Bowling Green.
The celebration brings the community together to honor the richness and diversity of Latinx traditions. There will be a variety of traditional Latinx music performed by El Checo y Marisela and DJ Jaunio. And professional dancer Alonso Southard will demonstrate salsa dancing.
The celebration, which is free and open to the public, is organized by La Conexion of Wood County. Donations will be accepted, but not required. La Conexion will be selling T-shirts, and have raffle baskets.
The Wood County Health Department will be showcasing its new mobile clinic at the event from 5 to 6 p.m. During this time staff will be giving tours and information about immunizations.
