Driver cited after reportedly hitting pedestrian in crosswalk

A pedestrian hit in a Bowling Green crosswalk on Friday (12/20) was taken by BG Fire Division to Wood County Hospital with possible minor injuries.

Bowling Green Police Division responded around 12:50 p.m., to the intersection of Lehman Avenue and South Main Street, after a vehicle struck a 69-year-old woman crossing South Main Street.

The westbound vehicle on Lehman Avenue, driven by Melody Sandwisch, 39, Cygnet, stopped at the stop sign, then reportedly turned left onto Main Street and struck the pedestrian, who was almost in the center of the roadway.

Sandwisch was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
