Meet Cooper, a senior dog estimated to be 8 to 10 years old, who came to the Wood County Dog Shelter last month as a stray. He is neutered and has had his da2pp and bordetella vaccines.
Cooper is the “epitome of a spunky old man” and a favorite at the shelter right now, according to Chief Dog Warden Jodi Harding.
“He hangs out in my office during the day and snores the day away. He loves going for walks and loves a good belly rub,” Harding said.
Cooper does have some fatty tumors, but the vet was not worried about them. “He is looking for a quiet retirement home where he can carry his toys from room to room and get all the belly rubs he can take,” Harding said.
The adoption fee for all shelter dogs is $89, which includes a $14 Wood County dog license, and $75 vet voucher toward spay/neuter and vaccines if needed.
The hours for the shelter are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The shelter is closed on Sundays. The Wood County Dog Shelter is located at 1912 E. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green, phone 419-354-9242.
