BG Mayor Emeritus Dick Edwards says State Rep. Haraz Ghanbari is ‘one of the most hard working and responsive members of the House’

Over the years, I have had the honor of representing numerous interests before the Ohio General Assembly: three public universities (BGSU, KSU, and Wright State), the Ohio Council of Higher Education Retirees, the Wood County Commissioners, and the city of Bowling Green.

Among the current members of the Ohio General Assembly, I would rank our State Representative Haraz Ghanbari as one of the most hard working and responsive members of the House. He understands and cares deeply about public policy, appropriations, and delivery-of-service issues from the perspective of individual citizens. While one may not always agree with his positions, he takes seriously his responsibilities to listen, respond to inquiries, lend a helping hand, and to affect positive outcomes.

During his years of service in the Ohio House, he has gone to “bat” time and again for BGSU, Owens Community College, Wood County Committee on Aging, Wood County government, city of Bowling Green, Wood County District Public Library, and other entities, most especially veteran’s and farm-related interest groups, and to be sure, the Ohio HP, police, fire, and all first responders. Haraz is ever present in person, on the phone, and via written communication.

In summary, Haraz tries his very best to represent the interests of Wood County and its citizens, even though he may not always succeed given the positions of his party’s caucus, especially related to enhanced financial support for our public schools and libraries.

I urge the voters of Wood County to return Rep. Ghanbari to Columbus for his fourth and last term in the Ohio House of Representatives given term limitations.
