A Tiffin man was arrested today (Oct. 27) after he allegedly assaulted a police officer, and ran from the hospital.
Bowling Green Police responded to the first block of North Prospect Street around 12:35 a.m., for a report of a highly intoxicated male. An officer located Reece Frisch, 24, in City Lot 2, and reported he was stumbling, had slurred speech, smelled of alcohol and had glassy eyes. Frisch was arrested for disorderly conduct/intoxicated, unable to care for himself.
Police took Frisch to Wood County Hospital so he could be medically cleared before going to Wood County Jail.
As they were leaving the hospital, the officer was trying to unlock his vehicle doors, when Frisch reportedly began running east toward Parker Street. The officer reportedly ordered Frisch to stop, then tackled him in the grass when he didn’t stop.
The report said that Frisch began hitting the officer with open and closed fists, scratching his neck and ear.
Frisch reportedly stood up and ran east down Parker Street, into the backyard of a home on Vine Street, and jumped the fence into the backyard of a home in the 800 block of West Wooster Street.
Frisch was captured and taken back to the hospital again so he could be medically cleared to go to jail, which he did. He was charged with assault of a police officer, escape and resisting arrest.
