From PERRYSBURG DICKEY’S BARBECUE PIT
PERRYSBURG – In a show of support for a local first responder, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Perrysburg invites the community to come together over Legit. Texas. Barbecue.™ while supporting the family of fallen Clay Township Police Department Sgt. Jacob Roesler.
On Friday, Oct. 30, through Sunday, Nov. 1, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day, guests can visit Dickey’s Barbecue Pit at 10413 Fremont Pike in Perrysburg to support a fundraiser benefiting Sgt. Roesler’s family following his tragic death in a crash while responding to a call.
Owned and operated by U.S. Army Combat Veteran and local Deputy Sheriff Steve Mowery, the Perrysburg restaurant is bringing the community together to honor Sgt. Roesler’s service and show support for his loved ones during this difficult time.
“Being in law enforcement and wearing the badge, the people you serve alongside become more than coworkers. It is a brotherhood and sisterhood that goes beyond the badge. You look out for each other, you show up for each other, and when tragedy strikes, you feel it together,” said Mowery. “The loss of Sgt. Jacob Rossler is heartbreaking. There are no words that can make the loss easier, and nothing we do will ever fill the space he leaves behind. But we can show his family that they don’t have to face the days ahead alone. That’s what this is about. Coming together, beyond the badge, and doing what we can for a family that is going through the unthinkable. We’re proud to use barbecue to help bring people together in Jacob’s honor. And more than anything, we want his family to know that we will never forget him and we are here to support them.”
