Bowling Green Police arrested a man Saturday (Sept. 19) after receiving a call around 4:50 a.m. from two women hiding in a bathroom in their apartment in the 400 block of Lehman Avenue.
The caller said she and her roommate had locked themselves in the bathroom after hearing someone in their apartment.
When police arrived, they found Jonathan Goins Jr., 20, of Bowling Green, in the apartment. A search of Goins reportedly found a handgun in his sweatshirt pocket. Goins reportedly told police that one of the women had been at his residence earlier in the night, and had trashed his apartment.
He reportedly told police that he just wanted to talk to the woman about the incident. Police found items thrown around in the woman’s bedroom. Goins allegedly said that he had no bad intentions – he just always carries a firearm. He told police that he was not invited to the woman’s apartment, but that she had given him a key to the residence.
The woman reportedly denied giving Goins a key, but police found a key to her apartment on his keychain.
Goins was arrested for aggravated burglary and carrying a concealed weapon. He was taken to Wood County Jail.
