BG Police arrest two following fight involving three generations of one family

Bowling Green Police responded Saturday to a fight in progress involving three generations of one family.

Officers were called to a house in the 200 block of East Reed Street, around 1:40 p.m., and found a fight involving family members ranging in age from 14 to 70 years old.

Police were told the fight began with two teenage sisters arguing about watching the two youngest children in the house. One of the teens allegedly pushed her grandma to the ground, injuring the 70-year-old’s arm and hip. After that, an uncle reportedly slapped and grabbed the teenager – followed by the teen’s mother then allegedly attacking the uncle.

Officers arrested the two family members who appeared to instigate the fighting and injure others.

A 14-year-old girl was arrested for domestic violence and taken to the Wood County Juvenile Detention Center. The mother, Elizabeth Schmidt, 42, was arrested for domestic violence and taken to Wood County Jail.
