City of Bowling Green provides updates on residential paving projects

Map of 2026 residential paving projects.

From CITY OF BOWLING GREEN

The 2026 paving program is ongoing, with pavement milling and the first course of asphalt placement wrapping up this week. Residents who live on streets scheduled for improvement will find parking restriction notices posted. Enforcement will be during work hours only, 7 a.m. – 6 p.m., during the milling and paving process. Residents can return to street parking after the workday if vehicles are moved again before work continues in the morning.

There will be a break before placement of the final asphalt course as contractors finish catch basins and ADA sidewalk ramps. Street parking restrictions during that time will be reduced to the work zone of catch basins and sidewalk ramps being replaced.

The following streets are included:

  • Buttonwood Avenue, Between Wooster Street and Sand Ridge Road
  • Grove Street, between Wooster Street and Ordway Avenue
  • Washington Street, between Grove and Church Streets
  • Ordway Avenue, between Maple and Main Streets
  • Adams Street, between Maple and Grove Streets
  • Rudolph Road, between Gypsy Lane and Sand Ridge Road

In addition, a rejuvenating agent will be applied to the following streets beginning Thursday, July 16:

  • Pearl Street, between Wintergarden Road and Main Street
  • Sand Ridge Road, between Wintergarden Road and Main Street
  • West Gypsy Lane, from Sand Ridge Road to Walmart
  • East Gypsy Lane, from I-75 to Dunbridge Road
  • Lafayette Boulevard, between Conneaut Avenue and Finch Drive
  • South Mitchell Road, between Sand Ridge Road and Wooster Street
  • North Mitchell Road, between Wooster Street and Conneaut Avenue
  • Woodgate Drive, between Woodland Circle and Bowling Green Road East

The rejuvenating agent is a substance sprayed onto newly paved roads to extend the lifespan of the asphalt. During the process, roads must be clear of parked vehicles, which is why the area is marked “no parking.”

An informational flyer will be delivered to residents living along the affected roads. While the agent is being applied, intermittent delays should be expected. A small amount of sand will be spread on the road and swept up within the week.

Drivers are asked to drive slowly if driving over a freshly treated area. On the day of application, residents are to avoid using irrigation systems, washing vehicles, or any other activities that could cause water to mistakenly wash off the freshly applied rejuvenating agent.

The rejuvenating agent is easily washed off vehicles and driveways without causing any permanent damage or staining. Material tracked onto driveways will weather off in three weeks or less.

This schedule is dependent on weather and the progress of the work. People may find the entire list of paving projects on the city of Bowling Green’s Capital Projects online map.
