The Veterans Memorial in the entrance of City Park will be rededicated on Sept. 11. The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. The Veterans Memorial was originally dedicated on Decoration Day (now Memorial Day), May 31, 1931. Veterans from the Civil War, Spanish American War, and the World War (now referred to as World War I) participated in the dedication. This memorial was refurbished in 2016, which is prompting this rededication.
