An all clear has been issued at Bowling Green High School and Middle School after Bowling Green High School received a threatening phone call this morning.  Similar incidents have been reported at schools across the state today.

“The safety of our students and staff is our top priority, and we will always take any threats seriously,” the district reported.

The Bowling Green Police Division responded immediately and conducted a thorough sweep of Bowling Green High School and Bowling Green Middle School, both inside and outside the buildings, and has now given the all clear.

All students and staff are safe, and building operations at both schools have resumed normal activities.

“We are grateful to our first responders and the Bowling Green Police Division for their quick and thorough response,” the district reported.

Earlier today, Bowling Green City Schools sent out a message to families and the community shortly before noon that Bowling Green High School received a threatening phone call this morning (Wednesday, March 4). The Bowling Green Police Division was immediately notified and was on site conducting an investigation.

As a precautionary safety measure, both Bowling Green High School and Bowling Green Middle School went on lockdown while law enforcement assessed the situation.

Authorities believe the call may be a swatting incident—a false report intended to trigger an emergency response—but the threat was taken seriously and investigated fully by law enforcement.

“The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. School administrators and local law enforcement are working closely together to ensure all appropriate safety protocols are followed,” the message stated.

District leaders asked that parents not come to the school this morning in order to allow law enforcement to do their work.
