Dennis A. Bye, 85, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away April 4, 2026. He was born November 2, 1940 in Sandusky, Ohio to the late Fred and Doris (Lazzara) Bye.
Dennis was a holiday enthusiast and avid collector of Christmas and Halloween decorations. He spent most days decorating his home and yard for each season. Dennis celebrated holidays and birthdays to the fullest. He was a dog lover and enjoyed spending time scrapbooking, traveling with family, and shopping. He was never without a cup of coffee and frequented his favorite shops daily. No matter the occasion, Dennis always came dressed to impress. Dennis was an endless ray of sunshine; it was simply impossible not to smile just being in his presence. Those lucky enough to know him well were met with endless jokes and banter. His laugh was infectious and filled any room.
Dennis was a true treasure and will be missed by all who knew him. The phrase “it takes a village” is an understatement. Dennis was beyond blessed to have a support system throughout the years ensuring he lived his very best life. From family, friends, caretakers, case workers, doctors, community members, the list is too numerous to count. A heartfelt thank you to Laurie, Dean, and Ruth for caring for Dennis like family. For all those who have been part of his journey we are forever grateful.
Dennis is survived by his family Austie & Derek Wright, William & Yvonne Shearer, Tanner Shearer, Nathan & Jana Shearer (Nala, Knox, & Nash), Linda Wright, Nikki Wright, Dana Wright (Emma).
He was preceded in death by Joe Wright and his service dog Ben.
His funeral service will be held on Thursday April 9, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 W. Wooster St. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Sandusky, Ohio. Visitation will be held on Thursday morning at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.
