Donna Mae Nye, 91, of Grand Rapids, Ohio passed away September 5, 2024. She was born August 25, 1933 to the late Lewis and Jessie (Schultz) Box. She married Lowell W. Nye on July 26, 1952 and he preceded her in death.
Donna was a 1951 graduate of Grand Rapids High School. Donna and Lowell enjoyed traveling together, taking trips to Hawaii, Las Vegas and The Rose Bowl in California. They enjoyed taking their family camping and on road trips. She was an excellent baker and loved making sweets to share with family and friends. Donna was a founding member of Hosana Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids, Ohio.
She is survived by her children Terry (Lisa) Nye of Delta, Ohio, Jamie Nye of Tontogany, Ohio and Lori (Ken) Nachtman of Bowling Green, Ohio, grandchildren Andrew “AJ”, Tyler, Ashley, Dustin, Abby, Trevor, Nicole and Jacob as well as 12 great-grandchildren.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lowell, siblings Roland Box, Wilbur Box and Virginia Long and grandson Terry Joseph Nye.
Per Donna’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Burial will be private for the family at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Grand Rapids, Ohio. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home in Tontogany, Ohio.
