Falcon Cam spots two baby birds in courthouse clock tower nest

Two baby falcons are seen on May 4.

Over the weekend, the pair of peregrine falcons in the Wood County Courthouse clock tower welcomed two new hatchlings – officially called eyasses – to their nest. The baby birds were spotted on the 2026 Falcon Cam this morning, Monday, May 4. To catch a good glimpse of the new hatchlings, scroll to 6:55 a.m.

At the end of March, the falcon family returned to the clock tower for the 16th consecutive year to lay their eggs, just two blocks away from the Bowling Green State University campus.

The Falcon Cam – which provides a 24/7 livestream of the sights and sounds in the nest – is made possible through a continued partnership between BGSU and the Wood County Commissioners.

The peregrine falcon has served as the official BGSU mascot since 1950, when Freddie Falcon made his debut. Freddie’s sister, Frieda Falcon, appeared a few years later in 1966.
