From FRIENDS OF BG DOG PARKS
Friends of BG Dog Parks is recalling the 1920s with a speakeasy theme for its “Paws and Pearls” fundraiser on Saturday, May 9. The event will be hosted at the historic Lincoln House, 325 N. Main St., Bowling Green, from 7 – 10 p.m. Guests can sip cocktails or mocktails and sup on a variety of hors d’oeuvres. There will also be a silent auction, featuring rounds of golf at the BG Country Club. While pearls and fedoras are not required, dressing in theme is encouraged. The Kase Quartet will provide musical entertainment.
Tickets for the limited capacity event are available at https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/paws-and-pearls-fundraiser.

The BG Dog Park on Ridge opened in June 2025. The Friends of BG Dog Parks, a nonprofit organization, is responsible for managing the park and does not receive funding from the city of Bowling Green for upkeep and maintenance. The Pups and Pearls “Barkeasy” event will augment grants from the Bowling Green Community Foundation, Principle Business Enterprises Inc., and Fidelity Charitable for the park’s “Paws and a Pathway” project to provide a walkway around the large dog park.
The organization is also raising money to add shade shelters to both the large and small dog areas. These improvements are part of the Friends of BG Dog Parks’ effort to further develop the park into a destination that promotes the well-being of local residents and attracts visitors to the city.
