House bound BGSU pianists need pianos

The BGSU College of Musical Arts is looking to borrow  pianos, preferably digital pianos, for the use of 15-20 piano students who are remaining in Bowling Green during the rest of the semester.

“With BGSU closing the students will not have access to the music building, which is causing problems for piano students who are not able to go home,” writes Robert Satterlee, professor of piano. “The plan right now is to provide students with instruments in their apartments, most likely digital pianos, but we would move acoustic pianos if we had to.”

The college would like anyone who would be willing to lend a piano, preferably a digital instrument with 88 weighted keys, to a student until mid-May.

Anyone willing to help can contact Satteerlee at rsatter@bgsu.edu , and he will arrange pickup in the next few days.

In a message on the faculty lisserv, Dean William Mathis noted that “any keyboards at this point would be welcome.”

He continued: “Our students are eager to continue their study but you can only practice the ‘air piano’ for so long.”
