International Trombone Festival to come to BGSU in summer 2027

From BGSU COLLEGE OF MUSICAL ARTS

The BGSU College of Musical Arts will host the 2027 International Trombone Festival July 7-10, 2027 in the Moore Musical Arts Center.

The International Trombone Festival (ITF) is the annual festival of the International Trombone Association; an annual multi-day event celebrating all things trombone. Artists, teachers, students, professionals, industry leaders, and hobbyists gather annually to celebrate and explore the many facets and styles of trombone playing, teaching, and manufacturing.

The location of the ITF moves around the world annually with festivals in the US and beyond, most recently in Riga, Latvia (2026) and London, Ontario, Canada (2025).

Annual ITF programs include guest performers and pedagogues, lecturers and performers from around the world selected through a competitive application process. They include:  ITA competition finalists; top student ensembles; and a diverse array of exhibitors representing the cutting edge of trombone repertoire, recordings, instrument technology, and accessories.

During festivals held in the United States, the ITF ipresents the Youth Workshop, a special program for developing trombonists ages 12-17, and the Composers Workshop which supports new music for the trombone.

The 2027 International Trombone Festival will be hosted by BGSU Assistant Professor of Trombone, Jeremy Marks from July 7-10, 2027.
