Jeanne Sue Root, 61, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away May 13, 2026. She was born May 10, 1965 in Fremont, Ohio to Daniel and Dolores (Sanford) Reardon. She married Mark Root in 1984 and he survives in Bowling Green.
Jeanne worked as a registered nurse at St. Luke’s hospital for 36 years, working third shift on multiple floors. Jeanne was kind and friendly, making many lifelong friendships with coworkers. She had a gift for taking care of people and animals, and she cared for many family pets throughout the years. She enjoyed being outdoors and had a special fondness for spending time in Catawba Island on Lake Erie. Her greatest joy came from the time she spent with her family, playing games and making each other laugh.
Along with her husband, Mark, of nearly 42 years, Jeanne is survived by her daughters Samantha Root (Mike) and Jessica Root, her mother Dolores Reardon and siblings Kathy (Bernie) Bertulies, JoAnn (Ken) Schafer, Teresa Sweeney and Tim (Elizabeth) Reardon, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Daniel Reardon, sister Elaine Reardon, and daughter Elizabeth.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 W. Wooster St. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
