John Fredrick LaPlante age 82, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away peacefully on Saturday June 6, 2026. He was born on October 12, 1943, in Toledo, Ohio to the late Donald and Erma (Spring) LaPlante of Toledo, Ohio.
John is survived by his beloved wife Judith (Judy) LaPlante, 3 children Robert LaPlante of Bowling Green, Ohio, Daniel (Kelly) LaPlante of Bowling Green, Ohio and Lorena LaPlante (Chad Sebring) of Maumee Ohio and 3 grandchildren Danielle (Nicholas) Pelow, Cassandra LaPlante, Rachel LaPlante and 5 great grandchildren, as well as 4 siblings, Donald LaPlante Jr, Gerald LaPlante, Sally Newhouse and Louise Day and within just this year preceded in death by his brother Richard LaPlante.
Since John started working at the age of 14, he always strived to advance in learning and to better himself for his family and to achieve his dreams. From working at a mechanic shop at a young age to managing a division at O-l and then owning a manufacturing business (Diversified Capping Equipment Inc). John enjoyed the river, boat rides with family, being a snowbird in Texas then Florida and made great friends everywhere he went. John’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all his happy hour friends who enjoyed his BEST margaritas in town.
Visitation for John will be held on Wednesday June 10, 2026, from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home in Waterville, 7220 Dutch Road, Waterville, Ohio 43566. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday June 11, 2026, at Plain Township Cemetery. Pastor Meg Boger will officiate. Following the interment, a luncheon will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 17050 Middleton Pike, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402, to continue celebrating John’s life.
Memorial contributions may be given in John’s honor to a charity of the donor’s choice.
