Joyce Horton

Joyce Ann Horton, 90, of The Villages, Florida and formerly of Bowling Green, Ohio, peacefully passed away June 17, 2023. She was born August 20, 1932 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Frank and Nellie (Fryar) Bennett. She married George R. Horton April 1, 1951 and he preceded her in death.

Joyce and her husband were best friends for 68 years. They enjoyed golf and shared a love for travel, which took them on countless adventures around the globe.

She cherished the moments spent with her family at her home and their cottage at Lakeside Chautauqua, where they created everlasting memories. Whether it was a simple family dinner or holiday celebration, Joyce’s warm and welcoming nature made everyone feel at home. She had a special gift for creating an atmosphere that brought people together.

Joyce was an accomplished residential and commercial real estate agent at Newlove Realty. With extensive knowledge of the local market and genuine care for her clients, she helped countless families find their dream home. She was also actively involved in retaining and attracting businesses to Bowling Green. She recognized the importance of a vibrant downtown area and worked tirelessly to ensure the community’s success.

Joyce is survived by her son Gary R. Horton (Denice), son-in-law Robb Coffman, grandchildren Heather Tang (Todd), Jeremy Horton, Jesse Horton (Holly), Brady Coffman, Dana Lavengood (Jimmy), Beau, and Anna Feldmann (Matt), and great-grandchildren Ali, Evan, Lily, James, Genevieve, Jameson, Nora, and Isla.

She was preceded in death by her parents Frank & Nellie Bennett, husband George Richard (Dick)Horton, brother Frank Richard, Sister Catherine, and daughter Jennifer Coffman.

Services for Joyce will be private for the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dunn Funeral Home in Bowling Green.
