Adapted from Kathryn Forbes’  “Mama’s Bank Account,” the play details the daily tragedies and triumphs of a Norwegian immigrant family in early 20th century San Francisco.  This simple and honest 1940’s classic shows how even the smallest and seemingly most insignificant experiences of family life still resonate with today’s audiences.

This production will be performed by 10 local veteran actresses playing multiple roles. “I Remember Mama” is a memory play and women are “memory carriers.”

“I Remember Mama” will be directed by The Lakeside Theatre Company’s Artistic Director Mary T. Boyer.  Ms. Boyer, a native of Toledo, has returned to her hometown after 47 years in NYC.  Her NYC years were spent working and teaching in the theatre, film, and TV industry.  She is the owner and founder of MTB Acting Studio in Manhattan.  She can be seen as Pat Warren (Crazy Eyes’ Mom) on “Orange is the New Black” currently streaming on Netflix, as well as Lois Hawes in “You Don’t Know Jack.”
