Mary C. Chambers, 84, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away at home Wednesday, September 18, 2019. She was born April 12, 1935 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Louis and Amanda (Jenkins) Hubay. She married James W. Chambers on February 9, 1954 and they were married for 49 years.
Mary was a 1953 graduate of Whitmer High School and worked as a secretary in the Math Department at BGSU for over 34 years, retiring in 1999.
She was thoughtful, creative, and a talented artist which she expressed through painting, sewing, and her always-evolving home décor. She was very active and independent and loved to work in her yard and garden, seeming ever-young to those around her.
Her greatest joy in life came from the time she spent with her family. She was loved and admired by her grandchildren and she especially enjoyed and cherished her role as “Gram.”
She is survived by her children Terri (Jerry) Ryland of Auburn, Indiana; Kathy (Dan) Beattie of Bowling Green, Ohio; and Dennis (Darlene) Chambers of Bowling Green, Ohio. She is also survived by her grandchildren James, Justin, Caitlin, Jessica, Hallie, Max, Molly, Travis and John and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband James and grandson Jonathan.
A Celebration of Mary’s Life will be held later this fall. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dunn Funeral Home in Bowling Green.
Memorial contributions can be given in her memory to a charity of the donor’s choice.
