As a Middleton Township Trustee, I see firsthand how decisions made at the county level directly impact our local communities. From infrastructure projects and zoning dynamics to economic growth, the choices made by our county commissioners ripple into every neighborhood, township, and school district in Wood County.
With Commissioner Doris Herringshaw retiring, our local leadership will lose a crucial female perspective unless Brenna Reynolds is elected to the board of commissioners and Wood County Planning Commission. To be clear, no candidate should be chosen based on gender alone, nor should a candidate ever be overlooked because of it. Brenna deserves our support because she is undeniably the most qualified person for the job.
Brenna is the only candidate running who holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. Her qualifications are backed by a proven track record sitting on Rossford City Council. She continues to host regular community conversations hearing directly from residents and spearheaded efforts that led to the development of the first full-time fire department in Rossford’s history. She has consistently delivered results, supporting economic development that allowed Rossford schools to reduce taxes three times while expanding resources for students, securing over $5 million in infrastructure grants, and bringing 1,000 new jobs to our region without raising taxes on residents.
Our county is experiencing rapid, fast-paced development, and navigating this growth requires a leader who does the work. Brenna has done extensive research and is fully prepared from day one. Her platform delivers a comprehensive vision for our future:
- Transparency and smart growth: Ending closed-door non-disclosure agreements, holding quarterly town halls, ensuring growth pays for itself, and protecting local water, roads, and local control
- Fiscal responsibility: Managing county reserves responsibly, expanding cybersecurity, and establishing long-term infrastructure plans to grow our tax base without burdening taxpayers
- Investing in our county: Implementing a fully funded road and bridge plan, ending highway garage delays, modernizing Wood Haven Healthcare, and retaining young talent
- Public safety: Supporting fire and EMS coordination, establishing a County Fire & EMS Council, securing equipment grants, and requiring data-driven decisions so safety never depends on a ZIP code
