Motorcyclist arrested for OVI and improper handling of gun after crashing bike

Bowling Green Police arrested a motorcyclist for driving under the influence and improper handling of a firearm, after he reportedly crashed his bike at the corner of North Grove Street and Curtis Avenue.

Police were dispatched around 1 a.m. on Thursday, to the crash. They found Bradley Barton, 24, of Bowling Green, standing on the sidewalk with his motorcycle. He was not injured.

Barton was charged with OVI with a BAC of 0.139 and failure to maintain control of his vehicle. He was openly carrying a firearm with 10 rounds in the magazine, so he was also charged with improper handling of a gun.

Barton’s driver’s license was confiscated. He was taken to Wood County Hospital to make sure he was uninjured, then taken to Wood County Jail.
