Pedestrian beacon at Wooster & Maple to be temporarily deactivated

From CITY OF BOWLING GREEN

The pedestrian hybrid beacon located at the intersection of West Wooster and Maple streets will be temporarily deactivated to allow for necessary modifications.

During this period, pedestrians will not be able to activate the beacon signal when crossing West Wooster Street.

The city anticipates that the required work will be completed between late June and early July.

When the beacon is inactive, the intersection will remain a designated crosswalk. Pedestrians are advised to use caution when crossing, remain alert to traffic, and only cross when it is safe to do so.

Motorists are reminded that Ohio law requires drivers to yield to pedestrians in marked crosswalks. Drivers should remain attentive, reduce speed as needed, and be prepared to stop for pedestrians crossing at this location.

The city appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as these improvements are completed to ensure the long-term safety and effectiveness of the crossing.
