Phipps is committed finding creative solutions & common ground

On November 2, the residents of Bowling Green’s Third Ward will have the opportunity to re-elect Rachel Phipps as their representative to City Council.  I am pleased to offer my strong endorsement of her candidacy.

During her first term, Rachel has committed herself to understanding the many important issues facing our City.  She has kept an open mind, worked hard to find common ground with her colleagues on council and within the administration, and sought creative solutions to improve our community.

As we update and modernize our zoning code in the next few months, we have a tremendous opportunity to align our zoning with the comprehensive planning processes our community has completed in the last decade.  As chair of the Planning, Zoning, and Economic Development Committee, Rachel will be leading the public hearings on this important effort.  I have talked with her at length about this project, and not only does she understand the importance of the process in helping Bowling Green to grow and thrive, but she is very well suited for the task.

As an attorney with a master’s degree in tax law, Rachel is interested in the various tools we can employ to attract new and diverse businesses to our community.  Her expertise will be valuable as we work to attract new investment and add jobs to our local economy.

I’m proud to endorse Rachel for another term, and I hope you will join me in supporting her on November 2.
