Precipitation possible later tonight, Aug. 9

Thunderstorms are expected to arrive after 5 p.m. today, July 17, and may continue in to the early morning hours.

Conditions are expected to remain dry today until about 9-10 p.m., where some spotty showers or an isolated thunderstorm could pop up. After midnight, thunderstorms with the potential for damaging wind gusts are possible in the area. Heavy rainfall is expected and could lead to flooding.

Considerations:

  • Secure all loose outdoor items before bed.
  • Have flashlights with fresh batteries close by.
  • Keep cell phones charge.
  • Always have multiple ways to receive emergency notifications.
