Randy J Hackworth

Randall “Randy” Jay Hackworth, age 61, of Luckey, OH passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at his home. He was born on May 21, 1963, in Auburn, IN to Harold and Joyce (Schmultz) Hackworth. He graduated from Bowling Green High School in 1981. He later attended Owens Community College from 1986-1989 and Bowling Green State University from 1990-1995 earning a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He married Donna Chamberlain on August 1, 1992 in Luckey, OH. Randy and Donna have celebrated nearly 32 years of marriage together.

Randy had a competitive spirit. He was a very strong person who was the backbone and strength of his family. He could overcome any obstacle thrown his way without complaint. He never saw anything as being too big to overcome. When he lost his hand at age 22, he didn’t take time to grieve his loss. He went right into figuring out how he could continue moving forward and taking care of himself. This led him to being able to kindly push others to better themselves. He instilled his strong work ethic in his children and was proud of all of them. His competitive drive inspired Micah to have a successful career in the US Army and Tyler to become the Ohio High School State Wrestling Champion. His kind and generous spirit was inherited by Paige and Kayleigh and their love for their children.

Randy, started working at Cooper Standard in 1982 as a machine operator working his way up to Advance Process Engineering Manager. Unfortunately, he passed away two weeks after he retired from Cooper Standard. He retired on June 10, 2024 following 41 1/2 years of outstanding service.

He enjoyed watching sports especially The Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Bengals. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing, his famous cook-outs and playing poker. However, Randy’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his children, and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Donna, Randy is survived by his children: Paige (Seth) Hoffmann of Luckey, Tyler Hackworth of Luckey, and stepson: Micah (Felicia) Tilley of WA. Grandchildren: Micah Ben, Caleb, Jason, Avery, Hudson, Makayla, Makenzi and his mother: Joyce Hackworth of Bowling Green. Sisters; Jana (Kevin) Smith of IN, Kim (Larry) Tussing of Bowling Green, and numerous nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; Harold Hackworth, and stepdaughter; Kayleigh Slater.

Family and friends will be received 4-7 p.m., on Monday, July 1, 2024, at the Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home, 110 West Main Street, Luckey, OH.
