Ruth E. Wegman, age 89, of Perrysburg, OH, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at her residence surrounded by family. She was born on September 18, 1926 in Port Clinton, OH to Clarence and Ora (Minier) Lowien. On September 17, 1948 she married Lewis Wegman and he preceded her in death on June 6, 2012. Ruth was an accounts payable clerk for A.P. Parts for 26 years retiring in 1991. She also helped on the family farm and was a wonderful homemaker to both Lewis and her children. Ruth was a member of Solomon Lutheran Church of Woodville, OH and has served as secretary to the church council. Her other activities include being a member of the Wood County Farm Bureau and being a former Cub Scout den leader. In her spare time she thoroughly enjoyed cooking, gardening, playing cards and especially spending time with her family.
Ruth is survived her children: Teri (Roger) Hansen of Pemberville, OH, Dennis (Julie) Wegman of Perrysburg, OH, grandchildren: Tara (Steve) Korkowski of Woodbury, MN, Tony (Emily Behrens) Hansen of Bexley, OH, Shawna (Chris) Andres of Bellevue, OH, Jodi (Jeff) Shaull of Tiffin, OH, step grandchildren: Calvin Messer of Perrysburg, OH, Daniel Messer of Coos Bay, CA, great grandchildren: Anna, Chase, Grace, Molly, Allie, Kylie, Camryn, Taylor, Brandon, Nathan, Damian, step great grandchild: Darian and her German Shepard companion: Skipper. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Lewis, brother: Clarence Jr. and nephew: Louis “Skip” Lowien.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Marsh Funeral Home, 201 W. Main Street, Woodville, OH. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM on Thursday, July 14, 2016 from Solomon Lutheran Church, Woodville, OH where there will be additional visitation from 10 AM until time of services. Officiating will be Rev. Kristina Ahlman. Interment will be in Troy Twp. Cemetery, Luckey, OH. There will be a bereavement luncheon served at the church immediately following the cemetery committal services. Memorial contributions may be given to: Solomon Lutheran Church, Eastwood Educational Foundation – Retired Teachers Scholarship Fund or Senior Independence Hospice.
