From WOOD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY
A SKYWARN severe weather spotters’ class for Wood County will be held on Tuesday, March 10, at the Veteran’s Building at City Park, 520 Conneaut Ave., Bowling Green. Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the class will begin at 6 p.m. This training is sponsored by the National Weather Service Cleveland office, City of Bowling Green, Bowling Green State University, and the Wood County Emergency Management Agency.
The SKYWARN class is presented by the National Weather Service Cleveland office and will give participants an overview of how severe weather develops and what to look for when severe weather occurs.
Participants will have the opportunity to become official weather spotters for the National Weather Service. The class is recommended for all first responders and is also open to the public. There is no cost for this class, and there are no age restrictions.
After course completion, there is no requirement to act as an official weather spotter. Some people take the course only to learn more about severe weather.
