Vickie L. Firsdon, 78, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026, at Bridge Hospice in Findlay, Ohio, surrounded by the love of her family. Vickie was born on May 13, 1948, in Fremont, Ohio, to James and Pauline McEwen.
Those who knew Vickie will remember her warm heart, caring nature, beautiful smile, and contagious laugh. She had a special gift for making others feel welcome and loved. Her kindness touched countless lives, and she found happiness in life’s simple moments spent with family and friends.
For more than 25 years, Vickie proudly worked in Medical Records at Wood Haven Health Care. She was dedicated to her work and valued the relationships she built with residents, their families, and her coworkers throughout the years.
One of Vickie’s favorite stories was about her very first date with the love of her life, Jim. Recovering from a serious accident, she arrived wearing casts on both of her legs and ankles. What could have been an awkward beginning instead became the start of a beautiful love story that lasted a lifetime.
Vickie loved relaxing by her swimming pool on warm summer days, soaking up the sunshine, taking walks with her daughter and her dogs, and enjoying a Dairy Queen ice cream treat. Above all else, she cherished time with her family. Whether sharing laughter around the table or creating special memories with her grandchildren, Vickie’s greatest joy was being surrounded by the people she loved.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Jim Firsdon; her daughter, Holly (Jeff) Orlowski; her son, Ryan (Lauren) Firsdon; her grandchildren, Gracyn Firsdon and Jax Firsdon; her step-grandchildren, Kyler Hiser, Regann Hiser, and Brennan Hiser and great granddaughters, Vanessa and Lily; her sisters and brothers, Karen Wasson, John McEwen, Don McEwen, and Rick McEwen; and her cherished granddogs, Maddie, Molly, and Ruby.
The family extends their gratitude to Laura Davies for the compassionate care, friendship, and support she provided to Vickie. They would also like to thank the entire staff of Bridge Hospice for the exceptional care and kindness shown to Vickie and her family during her final days.
While Vickie will be deeply missed, the memories she created and the love she shared will remain in the hearts of those who knew her forever.
