The Perrysburg Fire Division has released additional information following the fatal apartment fire at the 300 block of Three Meadows Court on Wednesday, Aug. 5.
The deceased has been identified as Eric L. Hehl, 68, who was a resident of the apartment where the fire occurred.
The fire was confined to the apartment where it originated. However, smoke damage occurred in the hallway and adjacent apartments. The Perrysburg Fire Division estimates the fire caused approximately $40,000 in damage.
No other residents or fire department personnel were injured in the incident, and no pets were killed.
Residents of the apartment building were able to return to their apartments between approximately 12:45 – 1 a.m. following the completion of firefighting operations and the initial investigation at the scene.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Perrysburg Fire Division in conjunction with the State Fire Marshal’s Office. No additional information regarding the cause is available at this time.
The Perrysburg Fire Division continues to extend its condolences to the family and loved ones of Hehl and to all residents affected by the incident.
