Walbridge councilmember says Brenna Reynolds is a ‘thoughtful, responsible leader’

It takes courage to run for office, especially for an office that hasn’t elected a Democrat in generations. Elections can bring out the worst in people. Candidates’ personal and professional lives are put under a microscope, with every word, photograph, and action scrutinized. Social media has made this exponentially worse. Anyone can criticize a candidate from behind a phone screen, hiding behind an anonymous name or profile picture to say cruel things they might never have the courage to say face-to-face.

As a young person, as a woman, and as a Democrat, Brenna Reynolds has faced significant hostility during this election cycle. Comment sections ridicule her at every turn and fellow candidates have made claims that are patently false in an effort to gain votes.

Yet through it all, Brenna has remained calm, steadfast, and focused on the issues that matter to her constituents.

Now serving her second term on Rossford City Council, Brenna has a record of tangible accomplishments. She helped bring Rossford’s fire department to full-time staffing levels for the first time in history, supported significant improvements to the city’s parks, and worked to expand access to TARTA public transportation.

Brenna has also laid out a clear vision for Wood County’s future. Brenna supports smart economic growth that requires businesses, including data centers, to pay their fair share while protecting existing infrastructure. She also recognizes that public safety doesn’t stop at municipal boundaries. By strengthening collaboration among police, fire, and EMS agencies across cities, villages, and townships, she seeks to improve emergency response times and better serve residents throughout the county.

Most importantly, Brenna believes in doing right by the people she represents. She approaches decisions thoughtfully and methodically, asks tough follow-up questions, and isn’t afraid to request more time to consider an issue or advocate for public forums before moving forward. She has hosted dozens of community conversations, creating informal opportunities for residents to share their concerns without the intimidation some may feel at a formal council meeting. She also regularly consults subject-matter experts to ensure her decisions are informed by facts and experience.

These qualities are not signs of indecision. They are signs of a thoughtful, responsible leader who takes public service seriously.

Wood County deserves a commissioner who is brave enough to stand up to criticism, thoughtful enough to ask questions, transparent enough to involve the public, and honest enough to put constituents first. Wood County deserves Brenna Reynolds.
