Wood County Fair welcomes new Junior Fair coordinator

Wood County Junoir Fair Coordinator DeAnn Eiben

DeAnn (Chamberlain) Eiben is the new Wood County Junior Fair coordinator. The Wood County Senior Fair Board hired her during the March meeting.

Eiben, a mother of three young children, has been attending the fair most of her life and loves everything about it.

She is a 2021 Elmwood High School graduate, where she was active in FFA.

“Since I was little, I’ve always wanted to try and make a change,” she said after the fair board meeting. The spot became available when former coordinator Julie Hannan resigned earlier this year.

What Eiben appreciates most about the fair is its ability to bring everyone together.

In preparation for the 2026 fair, Eiben will be getting to know everyone and the systems in place.

“The traditions at the fair are what make it special year after year,” she said. However, she also has plans to keep the junior fair moving forward.

Eiben hopes to improve communication between the junior and senior fair boards and add more education to the junior fair board meetings “to ensure the fair remains a sustainable and beloved staple of our county for years to come.”
