Wood County records 42 deaths, 230 cases of COVID-19

Wood County has 230 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases, as of the Thursday, May 14, update from the Wood County Health Department.

One more death has been reported, bringing the total to 42 local people with the virus who have died. 

Of the 42 who have died, 21 were females, and 21 were males. Six were in their 60s, nine in their 70s, 19 in their 80s, and eight in their 90s.

According to the Ohio Department of Health, 32 of the deaths in Wood County have occurred in long-term care facilities.

Of the total 230 cases in Wood County, 184 are in long-term care facilities – 118 are residents and 66 are staff. Those numbers from long-term care facilities are updated every Wednesday.

As of this week, the following facilities have cases:

  • SKLD Perrysburg: 49 residents, 7 staff.
  • Kingston Residence of Perrysburg: 42 residents, 15 staff.
  • Kingston Rehabilitation of Perrysburg: 6 residents, 25 staff.
  • The Manor at Perrysburg: 17 residents, 5 staff.
  • Otterbein Perrysburg: 4 residents, 13 staff.
  • Otterbein Pemberville: 0 residents, 1 staff.

Of the total 230 cases in the county as of today, those with the virus range in age from 1 to 100, with the median age of 63. Of the local cases, 140 are females and 90 are males.

A total of 59 Wood County residents are currently hospitalized for the virus.
