Stella, a young mastiff/rottie mix, still waiting at Wood County Dog Shelter for a home

Meet Stella – a 9-10-month-old mastiff/rottie mix that came to the Wood County Dog Shelter as a stray.

“She is a super sweet girl who still has her puppy energy,” Chief Dog Warden Jodi Harding said about Stella. “ She does great with other dogs and hasn’t met a human yet that she doesn’t think is her best friend.”

“She has been with us for over a month and for the life of me, I can’t figure out why,” Harding said. “She loves to play ball, walks well on a leash, and loves participating in play groups with her friends Benson and Hank at the shelter.”

Stella is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative.

The adoption fee for all shelter dogs is $89, which includes a $14 Wood County dog license, and $75 vet voucher toward spay/neuter and vaccines if needed.

The hours for the shelter are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The shelter is closed on Sundays. The Wood County Dog Shelter is located at 1912 E. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green, phone 419-354-9242.
