From BLACK SWAMP ARTS COUNCIL

The Black Swamp Arts Council invites the community to attend Fiberforum’s “Meet the Artists” reception on Thursday, Aug. 14, from 4 – 6 p.m., at 210 N. Defiance St., Archbold. Participating artists include: Sharon Hammer Baker, Patricia Kehoe, Ruth Carpenter, Judy Kahle, Pamela MacGregor, Linda Dove, Gerry Brock, Deborah Bewley, Kathy Pereira de Almeida, Letitia Roller, Susan Krueger, and Frances Perry. Light refreshments will be provided.

The Fiberforum exhibit is on display from July 16 – Sep. 13. It features 100 pieces of work from the Northwest Ohio-based fiber art group, “Fiberforum.” These artists who hail from across the United States explore a range of fiber media and techniques, from quilting and felting to paper-making and mixed media. Members value both traditional methods and their modern interpretations, often creating collaborative works that evolve through shared artistic contributions. This exhibit features group projects including the “Red Square Project” and “Bits and Pieces.”

The Black Swamp Arts Center is located in Archbold. It offers a range of arts opportunities for all ages, such as classes, creative arts camps, exhibits, special events, and summer arts scholarships. BSAC often partners with local schools and other arts and community organizations to provide art-filled experiences. Black Swamp Arts Council’s goal is to promote the visual, performing, and literary arts in the local area and make them accessible to everyone.
