Drivers of two vehicles cited for OVI after crash that landed one car upside down

Bowling Green Police responded to an upside down vehicle, on Saturday (Sept. 20) at 7:42 a.m., and cited two drivers for operating their vehicles while under the influence of alcohol.

Police were called to the intersection of Thurstin Avenue and Frazee Avenue to find a red Chevrolet Malibu on its roof, and a silver Ford Edge nearby.

Neither driver, nor the two passengers in the Malibu, were injured.

The driver of the Malibu, Ethan Nietfeld, 20, of Saint Henry, reportedly told police that he ran the stop sign at Frazee and Thurstin. Nietfeld allegedly had difficulty with the field sobriety tests, but refused a BAC test. He was charged with OVI/refusal and failure to stop at a stop sign.

The driver of the Edge, Tyler Henderly, 18, of Whitehouse, said he was northbound on Thurstin Avenue, when Nietfeld ran the stop sign. Henderly was cited for OVI with a BAC of 0.094 and underage possession.
