October is Fire Safety Month, and the Bowling Green Fire Division (BGFD) will be opening its doors to safety and fun. The community is invited to the annual BGFD open house at the Pearl Street fire station, 1060 Pearl St., on Saturday, Oct. 11, from 9 a.m. to noon.
The open house will offer guests:
- Pancake and sausage breakfast for a donation
- Tours of the station
- Exploring the firetrucks and equipment
- Inflatable safety house
- Firefighter photo props
- Safety tips and friendly interactions with firefighters
Staff will showcase various safety scenarios and provide educational information for guests to take home, including information about child car seats, residential knox boxes, and smoke and CO detectors.
Demonstration schedule:
- 9:30 a.m. – EMS demonstration
- 10 a.m. – Fire extinguisher demonstration
- 11 a.m. – Live fire demonstration
- 11:30 a.m. – Auto extraction demonstration
The event is free and open to everyone looking to gain helpful information on fire safety.
