Too many children in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan have no bed to sleep in, and they are forced to sleep on floors or couches. So, the Perrysburg High School Interact Club and Perrysburg Rotary Club have teamed together to help solve that problem with their second annual “Build Beds for Kids” service project.

The event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 11, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., on the Perrysburg Board of Education Commodore lawn, 102 E. Indiana Ave., Perrysburg. The public is invited to participate and to donate sets of new twin bedsheets.

“Build Beds for Kids” is coordinated by Let’s Build Beds, a local non-profit organization whose mission is to build and deliver beds to children in need. All tools, supplies, and materials will be provided. Over the past seven years, Let’s Build Beds has built and delivered more than 5,000 beds for children.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for our club members to work alongside Interact students in a service project that benefits children in need,” said Greg Rufty, Perrysburg Rotary Club president. “Our club members are grateful to have the opportunity to sponsor the Interact Club and to support these high school students who have taken an interest in Rotary’s mission of serving others.”
