‘Big Beautiful Bill’ is a monstrosity that needs to be repealed in its entirety, BG man says

The recent unilateral passage by the Republicans of the “Big Beautiful Bill” deserves contemplation. First there exists a $4.5 trillion Republican deficit expansion.  While we currently have an existing  $38 trillion national deficit. 80% of the benefits go to the top 10% of earners. The 2017 tax cuts were made permanent,  while cutting $1.7 trillion in benefits from the poorest citizens; by one estimate 10 million Americans could lose their health insurance.

Those now studying the Republican “Big Beautiful Bill” are finding out that Republicans not only have given the richest citizens more tax money at the expense of the poorest citizens, but have hidden within the bill the method to slowly destroy Medicaid, Medicare, Obamacare, and ultimately Social Security.

There have been those wanting to destroy or dismantle programs helping our poor since the Great Depression, since safety net programs were created by the Roosevelt Democrats.  You probably remember the last public dramatic attempt as Trump tried to gut the Affordable Care Act in 2017.  It was saved during a vote by John McCain with a thumbs down vote in Congress preventing its demise.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune admitted President Donald Trump wants to overhaul Obamacare. “The fundamental problem here is the underlying program, which again needs to be reformed,” Thune said on CNBC. “The president wants to do that. The president would like to overhaul Obamacare, and give people health insurance that is higher quality and more affordable.”

The Republicans have repeatedly claimed they will create a “better healthcare system” after the current healthcare system is repealed. However no details of the “better healthcare system” exist.  As Ronald Reagan said one should  “trust but verify”.

Democrats asking that Obama-era subsidies set to expire on Dec. 1, 2025 are extended is not “hostage taking” but seeking demonstrations that Republicans care about the working class in our country who will be negatively impacted, especially those in red states.

Those forces who want to destroy government programs to give tax money to the richest citizens have been draconian in hiding the method of attacking government programs within the machinations of the Republican “Big Beautiful Bill.”

Public Law No: 119-21 (07/04/2025)

Reducing the tax rate on the middle class who will be saving hundreds of dollars is not comparable to the rich who will be saving thousands or millions in income tax money as a result of the Republican “Big Beautiful Bill.”

In reading through this Republican passed bill I have come to the conclusion that the individuals who voted to pass this bill obviously could not have read it thoroughly. It appears obvious that some portions of the bill were written by “interested parties” with an economic gain intended. The “Common Good” of the citizens and even the survival of the government functioning effectively was not considered.

The “Big Beautiful Bill” is a monstrosity that needs to be repealed in its entirety and then topics need to be introduced, discussed, and voted on in discrete independent legislation agreed upon in a bipartisan manner.
