Owens Community College to present La Nueva Onda as part of free concert series

On Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 7:30 p.m., the Music Business Technology students from Owens Community College will present the second concert of the 10th annual, 2025-26, Accent on the Arts concert series, featuring La Nueva Onda.

La Nueva Onda is a Tejano/Conjunto band, comprised of five members from the southeast Michigan and northwest Ohio areas. The band was originally formed by two brothers, Herbey Atkinson and Paul Cervantes, in 2001. After a long hiatus, the band reformed, strengthening their sound with another brother, Eduardo Atkinson, and musical brothers, Sammy Gonzalez and Fernando Hernandez. Together they have brought La Nueva Onda’s sound to a new level and have continued to create a following in their community and surrounding areas. Each member prides themselves on delivering high-energy, heart-felt performances with every show, no matter how big or small.

Accent on the Arts is a free concert series designed, booked, promoted, and presented by Music Business Technology students. The concert will be in the 526-seat, Mainstage Theatre in the Center for Fine and Performing Arts on the Owens Community College Toledo Campus. The Center for Fine and Performing Arts is located at 7270 Biniker Road, Perrysburg.
