Welcome BG is a proud member of Vibrant Ohio, a statewide organization committed to strengthening immigrant and refugee integration efforts to build a more inclusive, equitable, and prosperous Ohio. Members include Welcome Dayton, Cincinnati Compass, Global Cleveland, Welcome Toledo Lucas, and US Together/Welcoming City, Columbus. Last month, Vibrant Ohio hosted the International Medical Graduates – Physicians’ Legislative Advocacy Day in Columbus. Participants listened to presentations and a panel discussion and met with state representatives and senators to advocate for policies that remove barriers for internationally trained physicians. Welcome BG was represented by its steering committee member, Akash Singh. Constituents are urged to write to all 13 members of the oversight committee and their elected officials to support this non-partisan bill and Vibrant Ohio’s efforts.
Since then, a 34-page advocacy guide created by Vibrant Ohio debuted and is now available for viewing and sharing in English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole – with more languages on the way – because everyone’s voice matters in shaping a vibrant Ohio.
This guide was created to help community members and leaders gain the tools, strategies, and confidence to get involved and make a difference. Whether one is just getting started or is already active in their community, it’s a resource for building connections and inspiring positive change.

Welcome BG was launched in 2019 to develop and promote Bowling Green as a welcoming, safe, and inclusive community for all residents, including immigrants, refugees, New Americans, and people from diverse races, ethnic backgrounds, cultures, and religions. Welcome BG focuses on economic development, living and thriving, and sustainability.
