Actors Collaborative casting ‘Durang/Durang’ & ‘I and You’

Actors Collaborative Toledo (ACT) will hold open auditions for its upcoming winter productions: “Durang/Durang,” directed by ACT co-founder John DuVall and “I and You,” directed by ACT co-founder Barbara Barkan. Auditions will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 316 Adams St., Toledo, on Sunday, Dec. 7 at 3 p.m. and Monday, Dec. 8 at 6:00 p.m.

Christopher Durang’s “Durang/Durang,” a fast-paced, hilarious collection of comedic short plays and monologues will be performed Jan. 23–25, 2026.

Lauren Gunderson’s acclaimed and intimate drama “I and You” will be presented Feb. 20–23.

Character Information

  • “Durang/Durang,” 6–7 actors: Performers with excellent comedic timing who can play a wide variety of characters across multiple short plays. Strong versatility, bold choices, and comfort with absurdist and satirical comedy are essential.
  • “I and You” (wo-person play): Caroline — A sharp-witted, sarcastic teenage girl who has been homebound due to chronic illness. Artistic, guarded, and emotionally complex, with both strength and vulnerability: Anthony — A warm, thoughtful, and enthusiastic teenage boy who arrives unexpectedly with a school project. He is athletic, poetic, earnest, and carries deeper layers beneath his friendly demeanor.

Actors of any race, gender, gender identity, or physical ability are encouraged to audition.
