From BOWLING GREEN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
The community is invited to celebrate the season with “BG Merry and Bright: A Holiday Concert at the Wood County Courthouse,” a festive showcase of local talent. People are invited to attend on Sunday, Dec. 14, for an afternoon of music, community, and holiday cheer inside one of Wood County’s most historic and beloved landmarks.
The doors will open at 2:30 p.m., with performances from 3 – 4:30 p.m. The BG Merry and Bright committee extends its gratitude to the Wood County elected officials and the Wood County Building and Grounds Committee for hosting this event. The committee would also like to give a special thanks to The Willows at Bowling Green for providing refreshments,
This free, public concert will feature a diverse lineup of local performers, offering a mix of musical styles to entertain audiences of all ages:
- Encore – The Eastwood A Capella Group: An ensemble known for inventive vocal arrangements of popular songs
- Tim Tegge: Singer-songwriter and local performer
- Note to Self: Contemporary vocal group recognized for their tight harmonies and modern repertoire
- Abby Paskvan-Hunter: Gospel and inspirational vocalist
- Dean Rochester and Group: Local vocal/instrumental ensemble
The concert will take place on the grand staircase of the Wood County courthouse, allowing guests to appreciate its Richardsonian Romanesque architecture. The building’s natural acoustics enhance the intimate, unamplified performances. Seating will be limited and attendees are encouraged to wander and enjoy the music from multiple perspectives.
The Wood County commissioners will host a holiday reception with refreshments. Guests can meet local dignitaries, enjoy holiday punch and cookies, and experience the warmth of the season in a relaxed, social setting.
“We are excited to host this celebration of local talent in such a beautiful, historic space,” said Wood County Commissioner Doris Herringshaw. “This event brings together the community for an afternoon of music, socializing, and holiday joy.”
This event is free and open to the public. Guests are invited to bring friends, family, and neighbors as people welcome the Christmas season through the sounds of local music and festive cheer.
